About Me
My life started out hard being born to a teenage single mother and growing up in poverty. I did not let the conditions I was born into stop me from trying to reach my full potential.
I was recognized as gifted early on and held myself to the highest standards during my early education. One of my proudest accomplishments was skipping the 4th grade.
When it was time to choose a college my Grandmother guided in the right direction by advising me to choose to go into Computer Science. I took my time during the college years and graduated in 4.5 years Magna Cum Laude.
My journey continued after landing a job in the cyber security department at University of Phoenix. With the free tuition provided there I was able to complete my MBA in International Business with a 4.0 GPA. I was also given my first opportunity in a leadership role.
Only 6 months into that role I was laid off and went back to working as a software developer determined to get back into leadership.
After 7 years working at a Utility company in Phoenix Arizona I took the biggest chance of my life, leaving the stability of that job to pursue a role in management at a Global Company. To my amazement I was able to land a job as a Senior Manager at an Over the Phone Interpretation Company, far exceeding my expectations.
My next goal is to serve as CEO of Marcus McKibben Consulting and teach others how to build excellent global teams. Global companies are shifting to pursue employees from lower cost countries. I have a unique ability of finding the “Diamonds in the Rough” in target countries and developing them into amazing contributors to technology efforts to grow the business.
My end goal is to teach other leaders to be able to do what I can do. I will travel the world as a thought leader, public speaker, and consultant. Helping connect and develop people for a better future.
