Choosing the Right Hardships to Adjust to

Life is Good! Do you know what I mean?

For many years now I’ve repeated this phrase to myself to help me appreciate all that I have and to see the brighter side of things. More recently I have noticed that I also use this phrase to justify my procrastination and to accept things as they way they are without trying to make them better. Why try harder when life is already good?

What about when Life is not Good?

It is easier to adjust ourselves to the hardships of a poor living than it is to adjust ourselves to the hardships of making a better one.

Hardship is inevitable. However, in most cases, you have the power to choose which hardships you will endure. Is it truly easier to learn to live with things as they are or can it be just as easy to do the hard things needed to make life better? I have had to adjust my thinking to find the value in doing the hard things in order to build a better life for myself and those around me and I find it to be much more rewarding than making the choice to just accept the life that was given to me.
